Little Man just said, "If you ever want to call [Lamb] a drama queen you should call her a llama queen instead."
Because both Little Man and Rhyme Girl have been told to "cut the drama" before and Lamb has a toy llama that she plays with quite a bit.
That statement made me laugh this morning.
For the tales of my baby daughter, my son and my step-daughter.
Three special kids (with special needs)*
*a speech-language delay for my toddler, high-functioning autism for my son and ADHD for my step-daughter).

Little Man - freelance entertainer
Little Man was just dancing and jumping around to some 80s music in front of Lambikins to amuse her. I laughed & he turned to me and said, "I'm just doing my job to keep Fridays entertaining."
What a kid! :>

My little Lamb is getting bigger
She's starting to giggle - though I don't have very good video of it.
And she does this really funny thing where she lifts both her legs into the air and then thumps them down. It's amusing when she's awake but she also does it in her sleep and that is something I find downright hilarious!!

The other thing is her increased "story-telling" - where she gabs away making all sorts of cute sounds that Little Man sometimes thinks are actual words.
What makes me laugh the most is when, after being breast-fed, she decides she wants to have a serious conversation with my breast. So she'll grab me and then start babbling with a serious look on her face, pause, smile, babble some more et cetera.
Extremely adorable stuff!

My hilarious son
So, he opened a birthday card from T.'s parents and there was money in the card. He set the money to the side and then read the entire card out loud.
Once he had read it, he picked up the money, snapped the bills and said, "Aw sweet, I finally get to see Queen Elizabeth!"
He then added, "See I did get to see the Queen in _________ (name of our town)!"
As the Queen was in our town this month, but we did not take the kids down to try to catch a glimpse because the heat was atrocious.

funny stuff
Rhyme girl and Little Man are sitting here talking about French.
Little Man suddenly said, "Matt says that people who speak French are HOT."
So I asked Little Man in what way...
Little Man: "I don't mean sweaty. It's like how I think Chinese people are hot... Matt thinks French people are hot. Like cute."
Then I asked him if his friends H. & P. (Male Asian twins) were hot.
Little Man: "No. Only girls are hot to me, Mom."
Then there was a question on baptism...
Little Man: "So like when Sarah got washed in church, she was baptized so what did it do to her?"
But the kids started arguing so I didn't have to answer.

Thoughts from Little Man
The funny:
"Mom, how did you take your lunch to school in the OLDEN DAYS?"
--
"Mom... why does it smell when I toot?"
--
"Mom, that guy has to spend 50 years in BARS?!?!?"
me: "No honey, it said he has to spend 50 years BEHIND bars... in jail."
--
The sweet and still a lil odd:
"Mom, I'll love you forever, even if we're in Heaven. Maybe there will be a coffeeshop in Heaven for us to sit at."
--
The sad:
"Mom, what if there was no one in the whole world who loved me except for you?"
--
The strange dreams:
"Mom, I had a dream that I went to school NAKED..."
--
"Mom, I had a dream where you were kidnapped and I couldn't save you..." <--he was crying for this one
--
"Mom, I had a dream that my friend Andrew and I were speaking a different language and no one could understand us."
--

Little Man & Front 242
This morning, Little Man was in the bathroom going pee (with the door open as per his usual behaviour) and I could hear him singing while I was in my room getting dressed.
I opened my door slightly and heard, "Hey poor, hey poor, hey poor, you don't have to be poor anymore. Jesus is here!"
I laughed and asked why he was singing, "Welcome to Paradise."
Little Man replied, "It's just so funny, Mom."

The Tale of the Holiday Rice Krispies
So my ex gave Little Man some Holiday Rice Krispies on the wkend and Little Man's never had them before...
*warning this is gross but also kind of funny*
So, earlier this morning, Little Man is going to the bathroom before school and he starts yelling, "Mom, Mom come upstairs! You have to look at my poop!"
I replied that I really didn't want to.
Then I asked why he wanted me to look at it.
Little Man said, "Because it's really green and weird."
So I went up and I looked.
It was like looking in a mine shaft where you could see the veins of metal glittering in the rock except that this was a relatively normal looking bowel movement EXCEPT for the "vein" of bright green rice krispie pieces.
I needed to share my pain for having to look at that.

My Little Man looks out for his Momma
So on Wednesday, I was having a high incident of later in the day nauseousness.
In the evening, I started feeling horrid and was coughing and felt like I had swallowed something the wrong way.
Little Man was "doing the dishes" (basically playing in one kitchen sink with plastic bowls in it with his rubber gloves on) and then he came running out yelling, "I've got the throw up bowl, Mom!"
He gave me the bowl and asked if I was OK and I said yes, and I thanked him for taking such good care of me.
He replied, "I take good care of you because I love you."
It was a sweet moment.
Followed by a vomit chaser.
Then I got a cheery, "I *told* you, you needed the throw up bowl, Mom." from the 7-year-old in the kitchen.

Spontaneously bursting into song
This has always been one of the odd things that I do. It drove DS nuts and, I daresay, it tends to drive T. nuts as well.
But I am so pleased and tickled to say that Little Man does it too. He's been doing it more often just in the past month or so and it amuses me.
Last wk I believe it was, we were in the car and T. was getting cranky re: other drivers.
Little Man pipes up from his booster seat, "Next on Treehouse. It's the Dad is Mad show, starring [T.'s full name]..."
Then he started singing, "Dad is mad. Dad is mad. He doesn't like that driver, so Dad is mad."
Well I just started guffawing... seriously, and T. got very annoyed and I couldn't even tell what other lyrics Little Man was creating for the song because I was just so damn amused!

Gullibility is apparently hereditary
So Little Man came home from his fabu time with K-n-R and da boys with a new toy... a set of walkie talkies.
He hands one to T. and then runs upstairs.
*static* "Dad, can you hear me?"
T (hits the button to respond), "Nope. Try again."
*static* "Try turning up the volume."
T (hits the button to respond), "I did."
*static* Little Man sighs, "Can you hear me now?"
T (hits the button to respond), "Sorry pal, I still can't hear you."
*static* "OK, Dad, we'll try again later."

"I'm looking for socks!!!!!"
Got a late start this morning re: an alarm clock issue.
Little Man was told to hurry up and get dressed so he wouldn't be late for school.
As I went into the bathroom, Little Man was standing naked in front of his dresser.
I heard T. come upstairs and he told Little Man to stop hopping around and get dressed.
Little Man, who was still naked, was literally hopping and peering at the floor with a dollar store toy magnifying glass shouted, "I'm looking for socks!!!"

Sometimes, all you can do is shake your head and laugh :>

Little Man muses about the future
Little Man has made a lot of statements lately like, "I wonder what my life would be like if I were a chipmunk?"
He's also pondered what his life would be like if he were various other people as well as wondering if I would like being him and if he would like being me.
Last night he starts up with, "I wonder what (one of his friends) will look like when he grows up? I wonder if he'll be handsome like Rick (the little boy's Dad)?"
He finally decided that of his two closest male friends (who are brothers) that the older one will grow up and "be fancy" and the younger one will grow up and "be handsome."
I asked Little Man what he'll look like when he grows up and his answer was, "I'll just be weird."

Am I old enough to know how Daddies plant magic seeds now?
Driving in the car the other day with a friend, Little Man pipes up from the backseat and asks if he's old enough to know how Daddies plant magic seeds in Mommies' tummies to grow babies.
*stunned silence*
me: "I don't think you need to know that when you are seven."
LM: "But I'm 7 now, I'm old enough."
me: "How do you think it happens?"
LM: "Does the Daddy poop?"
me: "It does not involve poop. At all."
LM: "Oh."
A few hrs later.
LM: "If a Daddy's bum touches a Mommy's bum - does that plant the magic seed?"
me: "What do you think?"
LM: "I think I know!!!!"

Is that like a computer?
Today we were watching a movie that takes place in the 1930's (Kit Kittredge?).
As Abigail Breslin's character was typing a story, Rhyme Girl was confused.
Rhyme Girl: "What's that?"
Me: "It's a typewriter."
Rhyme Girl (bewildered expression): "Is that like a computer?"
*laughter*
Rhyme Girl (angry): "It's not my fault I don't know what a typewriter is!"

Holy crap!
Little Man was giving us the 3rd degree as to what our plans are for Friday night (when he goes to his father's place).
He correctly guessed that we were going to the theatre and then he was trying to find out what we are going to see (Star Trek).
I told him that we are seeing a movie with kissing in it.
Little Man: "What about sex?"
me: *speechless*
T: *speechless*
Little Man: "Does it have Coupling?"
me: *laughs*
T: *speechless*
Little Man: *gets pissed off that we won't answer him*

Later,
Little Man: "Is it a movie of Coupling?" (meaning a TV show we own on DVD)
We didn't want to say what it is since he might want to see it.
I told him we are going to see "Kert Rats."

Smarty pants
Little Man was complaining that he wants us to take him to the movies because we haven't in a "LONG TIME" (aka less than a month).
When Big T. told him to get a job and earn $ to take himself to the movies, he turned it around and told Big T. to get a job instead.
We laughed.
Speaking of pants... I do not know wtf is up with the kids but they both seem to have issues with WIPING, FLUSHING, and washing their hands after using the bathroom and using SOAP.
ARRGH!

No burning pants?
OK so when the kids are fibbing, we (and our friends) will sniff and say we smell burning pants.
Tonight, Little Man responded by sniffing and stating, "Well I don't smell my pants burning."

My son cracks me up sometimes

If this is hard to read (and yes, he didn't spell everything correctly but hey, he's in Grade 1) here's what it says:
It is possible "that I will take off my coat outside."
as well as,
It would be impossible "I will have spider webs like Spiderman."
And
It is likely that "I will run outside." (You'll notice that stick-figure Little Man is saying, "hahahaha."
It is unlikely that "I will jump over a roof." (You'll notice that stick-figure Little Man is saying, "Ahahah!"
I *loved* that he drew himself jumping over a church. And I did ask him why he chose a church and he said, "I was going to draw myself on that cross thing but I forgot to."
So I had to ask him why he was going to draw himself on the cross and he replied, "To be like Daredevil."
*shakes head*
Yep, my son is totally awesome!

I can't sleep... my bed smells like toots!
The latest stalling technique of my 6-year-old.
After he got out of bed for the 4th time, Big T. asked him why he was out of bed.
Little Man: "My bed smells like toots!"
Big T.: "Probably because you are tooting in bed."
LM: "No, I'm NOT!!!"
Big T.: "Well, I can't do anything about it, you just have to go back to bed."
